Description
Venturi Injector
Venturi injector is irrigation tool with a narrow or constricted throat in the middle with wide ends with equal nominal diameters. The fluid passes through the tube and speeds up as it enters the constricted throat, triggering the pressure to drop (Bernoulli principle). The drop in water pressure causes water to be pulled into the flow or mainline water supply..
The injector is fitted with hose pipe with valve that connects the chemical reservoir with the constricted throat. Through the valve, one can open or close the flow from chemical reservoir.
in the fertilizer tank, the hose pipe is fitted with the strainer which act like water filter to remove sediments from getting into the water fertigation system
The mixing of chemicals is done by the high speed of inflow water with sucked chemical from the reservoir. It is the duty of the agronomist to know the exact quantity of the fertilizer required by the plant so that the mixing ratio is pre-determined.
When the injector is not properly sized the following effects can arise.
- Crust of fertilizer on soil surface.
- Yellowing and wilting of lower leaves.
- Browning leaf tips and margins.
- Browned or blackened limp roots.
- Very slow or no growth.
- Death of seedlings
