Drip end cap

Drip end cap is a plastic fitting that closes the drip tape at the end. They come in different sizes, but most common are 8mm(eight millimeter),12mm(twelve millimeter) and 16mm (millimeter).

Currently 16mm (millimeter) drip tape end cap is the most common in the market and most referred by most farmers. This comes into question because most supplied drip tape/drip lines come with the internal diameter of 16 mm.

These drip end caps come in different designs and colors. Most of them are complete with black or may have a blue lock or yellow colors. Standard caps can sustain a working pressure of up to 16 bars but most of the irrigation end caps use in irrigation system can withstand a pressure of three bars and below.

Working pressure of the end caps is very critical since it determine the type of the drip line to be used. High working pressure of the caps requires pressure compensated drip line rather than uncompensated pressured drip line.

Drip end caps are commonly used with competent irrigation equipment like drip start connectors grommet rubbers and the pipe punches. Pipe punch is used to make holes on sub main lines. For the takeoffs and starter connectors to be correctly installed with little or no leakages, the grommet rubbers of different diameters are installed before takeoffs and starter connectors to seal the drilled holes in the sub main line.
